The patent is going to judge the performance and quality of the websites through the preference and ratings of the humans for the sites. Through this patent the humans will get better websites, have more user satisfaction, have the websites appearing in ranks according to their quality in the search engines, and the sites to be placed in order their relevance to the search keywords. This was field back in 2008, though it got approval in the last year, i.e. 2012. The patent has features that are quite similar to the Panda update of Google. Thorough this, the search engine is more keen on improving the search results and the performance of the websites rather than penalizing them. The blogs according to this, can be applied and used within the description sections. The patent allows the internet users to rate the websites on a total of 5. Out of 5, the ones getting 1 or so, will be considered as websites of poor quality and will be demoted in their rankings. The ones who will make 5 or 4 out of 5, are surely to be held as informative and well performing websites.

How it will work: The websites will be rated on the basis of their originality, the layout of the sites, if there is any inappropriate content, grammatical errors, what percentage of the text is plagiarized, etc. If the website is having any incomplete page or blank page, then it will be considered as inappropriate and the website will be demoted for this. The patent, didn’t have the updates of both Panda as well as how it is going to work in details. The reason of this is that Google doesn’t want websites to learn of these and then try ways of outsmarting it with the rules. There will also be a strict checking of the relevance of the URLs to the websites. It can be almost concluded that Google wants three things, linking, and content and user satisfaction to be given importance by the website owners. Any violation of these and Google will make sure you aren’t getting the top search positions at least. It will be the best to follow what the search engine wants.

Appeal: The websites will also be getting rankings in order of their appeal. In case a website has information that is important for the majority and is quite a common concern, then it is surely going to have broad appeal and be visited by a number of users. However, with a topic that is important only for a particular community, profession or group, the appeal is going to get narrowed. Google isn’t going to take any step for that of course, for appeal hasn’t got to do anything with its rules. Therefore websites need to improve on a different terms in order to retain ranking.

Google’s patent: Google has come up with a patent that will be working perhaps more effectively than its previously released updates, i.e. Panda and Penguin.
