Social media right now: Social media is one platform that tasted quick success and it is still going on. The sites like Facebook, twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest and others have an increasing number of users. Facebook, is really now the juggernaut of the social media platform with more than 180 million of users having their profiles on it. And this isn’t all; Twitter and Google+ is also emerging as important and rather unavoidable social networking sites for people as well as for businesses. Through this medium, the corporates and enterprises now find it easier to keep in touch with their associates and other who are related with their business as well as their audience. This has helped them a lot in creating greater opportunities for themselves. If you notice any brand, you will see that they put regular and much effort on their social media status and keep updating their target audience with their products and services. Though the ones that are not too old in the market may find it difficult to understand how it works with the social media, it is still great. As for the ones who have just started with their business, we provide the following basic rules which should never be broken.

Show appreciation to your customers:An unhappy customer can never be your customer for long. Within a short period of time, he/she is likely to shift interest to some other business, i.e. your rival. Therefore you need to provide them with some incentive and also show that they are valuable for your business. If they feel their importance they are going to like it. With time, they are going to become your loyal customers. With good service and caring for what they want, they are going to refer your business to their friends and thus you find more and more people liking your business profile on the social networking site. And social media works due to this- word of mouth.

Throw light on positive feedbacks and cater to the negative ones:As a business, there is nothing more important to you than your customers and you must satisfy them with great products and services. Along with this, highlight the positive feedback of your customers. As for the ones that are more of complains, cater to them immediately and don’t hide it on the profile page or else only positive views will make things more biased.

Promote your business but within a limit:Yes we agree that social media is meant for promoting your business, but it should be crafted skilfully without seeming to be too loud. People must never think that you are only promoting or ‘selling’ your business. Take part in different activities and encourage your audience to talk about their experience with your products as this will help you a lot.

Hold contests that increase awareness and curiosity about your brand:Try to hold contests and activities that help your customers to know your brand better.
