On Twitter and your username: Twitter has become an important social networking site these days. It is one platform where you get to see the existence of international brands, celebs as well as other such eminent personalities and organizations. It is not just great to follow any of them on Twitter but it is also highly beneficial as a business owner to have your business profile created on this networking site. Businesses have made much success with this social networking site after Facebook. However, if you are looking forward to the same you should be knowing a few things in which it really works. One such is the name of your Twitter account. The email id and the username should be done accordingly that they are relevant to your business and also sound good to people. Having a funny or cool username may sound right when it your personal account and you have your friends in the profile. However, if it is meant for business then it becomes more important to have the right name. The funny and odd usernames are then of no use for sure. Or think if you are working and want to use the Twitter account for that purpose or at least you are going to add your colleagues and other professionals to it. It has to be different. Now think that you already have an account in Twitter and now you need to use it for your professional need. Therefore the very first step will be changing the name, but you are fearing the loss of followers on your account. However it isn’t going to happen with a little understanding.

Change username: People are often thinking that with the change in their account name, they may lose their followers. But this isn’t so. People can any time check your previous activities and posts and can know your recent existence through that. All you need to do is go to your Account and select ‘Settings’ that is on the top right corner of the page and there in the field of entering your username, you can enter a new one. You will immediately know if it is used already or is available to you. Now once you have decided on one and it is available then you scroll down to the screen’s bottom and select ‘Save changes’. You will be required to enter your password once again and then the change will be done.

Create new account: However, signing in to a new account, i.e. creating and using another account simultaneously can also be a good option. Though we can say that people are not going lose your track, yet there is always a possibility that they may think someone else to be you if you change your username. You can also inform your new account to your followers and ask them to switch to it. This can be a much better idea and it won’t take more than just one-time informing them.
