During January 1996, two graduate students of Stanford University started working on a search engine which was called “BackRub”. In the next year, Larry Page and Sergey Brin have worked on the project to make a data center. He was working in dorm room of Larry at Stanford under the domain name of google.stanford.edu.

This was the era of virtually free for all “dot-com”. The entrepreneurs had little bit of interest for making their own company around the technology that they have developed. At that time the person was a great investor and one of the faculty advisors of Stanford. After watching a brief demo, he wrote a check of $1, 00,000. That was made for Google Inc.

Instead of depositing the check,the pair made a corporation and involved getting addition money from friendsand family. They continued working on the search engine, termed it as Googleand by 1998 they made it ready as the virtual door of the world. The domaingoogle.com was registered by them on 15^th September, 1997.
