Should Social Media be Used for Press Releases
About press releases:
Press releases are important for different companies. Through them an organization can have the internal people and also the external audience for it know of its latest events and keep them updated always. It is also a means of communicating with the audience, though it is only one-sided. However, the media may ask and share they feedback during the press release event. Writing a press release can be boring for some. It should be devoid of any bright and crafty language. There should be nothing written in the
praise of the company or the event. Press releases never aim to advertise, it is more like news. You may never find a press release to be exciting and even the journalists don’t like reading them.
But however, boring and lifeless they may seem to us, the truth is that press releases are important. These releases make your events become more public, i.e. you get exposed to a wide audience which is helpful in many ways.
Even if you don’t like, press releases work:
Press releases are used and shared for various reasons. A press release will take the news you intend to, to a wide audience and initiate feedback from them which is important for you. The press releases are distributed with different media agencies or other such sources which can handle these and also email to a number of reporters to attend the press release. It is quintessential to have someone from the media to cover that event. These reporters and other media associates can then put the press releases on social media sites and make them available to millions of users.
There are releases on finance, technology and something that is within the company, like the recent announcement of a vice president, etc. It can be anything and based on the type of it, it should be shared and posted on social media sites accordingly. The sites like these are well aware of the format for coding these releases for the search engines. Thus you get them optimized on the search engines and get a lot of response from your target audience.
New trends emerge, the use of social media platform for press releases:
Some businesses also send the press releases for their organizations, to their own list of partners, associates, journalists and other
such sources. Social media is a fast growing platform, though it has gained much popularity. Social media sites are also used for posting and publicizing people of the press releases. Now what confuses is should all the press releases be uploaded on the sites? Some of the social media channels are meant for sharing and posting beautiful and colourful photos of families, apparels, falling in the lifestyle category. It is still being experimented whether these press releases should be put on those sites as well.
More to understand in this regard:
As said above experiments are being done, the marketers, social media writers, PROs and others associated directly with media like journalists are giving this a serious thought and are working for it. Some of the experts have already come up with their own theory on this. It is for the future to show the results.
