Like Google is going on its way out, Foursquare is fighting an overhaul that is radical and MySpace is trying a last attempt to have the users get engaged with it again. The last year, there were some predictions which were made for social media on the trends. Some of these have come true already. Well now as we are headed towards another year and a new beginning in the market, let us see where these have gone and as we are all in the beginning of 2015.

Google will be on its way to become major, even more:

More than half of the marketers have been using the platform and nearly 61% of all the businesses have been planning on the increase of their activities related with Google+ this year. Yes, Google+ is still, very much the priority for the marketers. But a lot of them are struggling for making the platform be perfect for their business as more businesses believe that an investment in Google+ is necessary. Google has previously announced that the social signals are not going to be a part of their algorithm for ranking. And some businesses, with this, have started to worry and think if really the investment for Google+ is helpful and beneficial as it was thought to be previously.

To add to this recent thing to have the authorship photos removed from all the search results, it is not really surprising that there are some marketers who have got confused regarding Google+ difference or similarity from Twitter or Facebook. Certain unexpected incidents such as the head of the social efforts at Google+ left it and then there were reports that Google+ is done, have made the future very misty. Well, as of now, the business owners should be continuing to focus on having the platform used in a manner to make connection with the prospects but it is more importantly as if it is a primary method of having the Author Rank and the authority for the content to be established.

Social media investment will be a necessity and not just some luxury:

More than 90% of the business owners have been indicating of recent that the social media is an important thing for their business. Well and it was predicted last year that more than 86% of the businesses will get involved with social media. The businesses are known to be re-allocating the budgets and keeping them away from the advertising methods which points towards social media and also other marketing strategies that inbound.

There has been a major concern which is in the minds of all business owners. It is about the measurement of ROI for the social media efforts they have. There can be other issues as well which can stop the effectiveness of the social media and this can happen for some businesses. That definitely includes some lack of education and also trained personnel. It all becomes difficult to have the regular media stuffs be carried on.
